Mr Viktor Zlocha

Mr Viktor Zlocha has been an NHS consultant cardiothoracic surgeon on a permanent contract since 2013 at The University Hospital of Leicester - Glenfield site.

He went through his surgical training in the Czech Republic and in centres in Austria, Germany, Netherlands and Spain.

Mr Viktor Zlocha leads complex mitral valve services at The Glenfield Hospital, with a catchment area of approximately 1.5 million, with patients being referred from Lincoln, Grantham, Derby and Burton hospitals.

Mr Zlocha's main interest is Mitral valve repair/replacement. He also performs, on a regular basis, coronary artery bypass grafts, aortic valve operations, and ascending aorta procedures with excellent outcomes measured by NICOR ( national audit).

He also facilitated TAVI, particularly trans-apical and subclavican, where a surgeons input is needed. he is also involved in ECMO services at The Glenfield Hospital, predominantly V-A ECMO.
