Personal Profile

Dr Wamedh Taj-Aldeen is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist practicing in Milton Keynes and sub-specialising in Upper GI, Lower GI and general liver disease, he also has a special clinical interest in IBS and IBD. Dr Taj-Aldeen started his private practice at The Saxon Clinic in December 2021 and currently runs a weekly clinic seeing private insured, self-funding patients and NHS patients who have chosen to have their treatment at the Saxon Clinic.

He qualified in 2003 from Babylon University Medical School in Iraq. He was trained initially in general medicine in Qatar and obtained a Certificate of Board in Internal Medicine (CABIM) in 2011. Dr Taj-Aldeen later joined a national training programme in North Scotland where he completed his training in General Medicine and Gastroenterology at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in August 2019.

After obtaining his Certificate of Completion (CCT) accreditation, Dr Taj-Aldeen went straight on to accept his first consultant post in Aberdeen where he obtained more experience and enhanced skills in endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP procedures). By the end of 2019 he had moved to Milton Keynes and had secured a substantive consultant post in Gastroenterology in Milton Keynes University Hospital, where he still currently runs his NHS practice.

As part of his role at MKUH, and in addition to his work as a General Gastroenterologist, Dr Taj-Aldeen was pleased to have the opportunity and additional responsibility of leading the upper GI cancer services for the Trust.

Dr Taj-Aldeen has broad experience in a wide range of upper GI conditions including reflux disease and hepatobiliary conditions. He also has a special interest in both Irritable bowel and inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s).
