Mr Al-Jundi is a vascular surgeon, trained in performing open and endovascular (keyhole) procedures. He strives for excellence when managing hispatients by working closely with them to provide up to date and high standards of clinical care. His special interests include performing advanced endovascular procedures for aortic aneurysms, diagnosing and treating thoracic outlet syndrome and performing endovenous procedures for varicose veins including radiofrequency ablation and foam sclerotherapy.
He joined Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as a vascular and endovascular surgeon in February 2017. His clinical practice involves emergency and elective management of the complete range of vascular disease including aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, and varicose veins. He has completed his extensive higher surgical training in South Yorkshire prior to undertaking fellowships in minimally invasive vascular procedures at national and international centres of excellence, namely, Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and the University of Toronto Hospitals in Canada, respectively. He trained in the treatment of complex vascular disease, including open and endovascular procedures for thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Alongside his clinical training, he was awarded Master of Science at Cardiff University in 2011, Master of Education at the University of Sheffield in 2017. In additiona, he is currently undertaking an MBA at the University of East Anglia (UEA), as well as being a clinical lecturer and instructor at UEA. He assists in delivering the Master of Clinical Education programme. He developed special interest in technology and education, published and presented his work at national and international levels in Europe and Canada.
