Dr Sajjaad did two years of research in assisted conception (IVF) at the Hewitt Centre, Liverpool Women’s Hospital followed by subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery. This helped Dr Sajjaad gain insight and expertise into Assisted Conception (IVF/ICSI), Andrology (specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of male reproductive organs, and sperm problems), Endometriosis, Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology and Menstrual Dysfunction. he research in the field of assisted conception culminated in the submission of Dr Sajjaad's doctoral thesis and the award of an MD from Liverpool University. She was awarded the CCT followed by CCST in reproductive medicine & surgery in 2007 by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London.
Dr Sajjaad is published widely on many aspects of gynaecology and reproductive medicine, and has presented as well as chaired many sessions both nationally and internationally. Currently, Dr Sajjaad is a Consultant Gynaecologist and sub specialist in reproductive medicine and surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital Manchester, one of the largest IVF units in the UK. Her commitments include infertility and IVF, as well as running the ovum and sperm donation programme. Since starting this post she has established the andrology services in full, including a surgical sperm retrieval service, independent male andrology clinics and reproductive endocrinology clinics.
All female fertility problems are managed in these clinics including those due to PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome), endometriosis and pre and post cancer treatment. The male clinics are dedicated to all aspects of fertility problems including obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermias, testicular cancer and post chemotherapy and radiotherapy patients.
