Personal profile

Professor Viswanath is an established Consultant General, Upper Gastrointestinal, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic surgeon, having practised for more than 20 years.

He specialises in all hernia surgeries, gallstone, acid reflux, hiatus hernia, achalasia and Upper GI cancer disorders. He carries out routinely advanced laparoscopic surgeries and endoscopies, including dilatation and placements of stents.

Mr Viswanath was first to establish a STRETTA (Endoscopic Anti-reflux Radio-frequency Treatment) centre in the UK and hold live training courses. He has introduced Restech pH studies, to investigate and manage patients with acid reflux and LPR (cough, lumpy sensation in the throat, cranky voice etc).
