Our Urgent Care Centre's walk in clinics offer rapid access to excellent medical care with no appointment necessary.

Bandage
If you have had an accident or have an illness which is not life-threatening, an Urgent Care Centre can be the best place to go to get a quick diagnosis and treatment from a nurse or doctor. You don’t need an appointment or health insurance, simply walk into your nearest Urgent Care Centre and you will receive medical attention.

Each centre has a relaxed environment where you can feel at ease. You will be seen by a qualified doctor or nurse very quickly – most of our Urgent Care Centres have an average wait time of around 15-20 minutes1.

Once you are in the hands of our expert medical professionals, the process is very convenient. The BMI hospitals where our Urgent Care Centres are located have comprehensive facilities on-site where we can treat a wide range of injuries, illnesses and complaints. In the rare event that you need specialist treatment which we can’t offer, you will be transferred to a hospital where you can be treated1.

Paying for your treatment

You can access a BMI Urgent Care Centre regardless of whether you have private medical insurance or not. Please bear in mind that urgent treatment is not usually covered by your insurer and you should check first before proceeding with treatment. Assessment and treatment at a BMI Urgent Care Centres is usually a private self-pay service1.

Initially you will be triaged by a nurse and assessed by a doctor. If your condition needs further scans or tests for diagnosis or needs to be treated, this will incur further costs and be charged separately. BMI Urgent Care Centres accept payment by BMI card, which allows you to spread the cost with 12 months’ interest free credit1.

Our card allows you to choose a credit limit that suits your circumstances – up to £20,000 (subject to status) – and 12 months’ interest-free payment terms every time you finance medical care. Terms and conditions apply.

If you are a Medischeme member and you are admitted to hospital for further treatment following your initial assessment, the assessment fee will be waived1.

If you require less urgent treatment you could alternatively book a private GP appointment. Find out more about our private GP service.
