Patients in the North of Scotland who need a knee or hip replacement can now have their operation with the assistance of a robot, thanks to the installation of the Stryker Mako system at BMI Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen.
The robotic-arm will be used by surgeons to offer patients across Scotland a state of the art alternative to traditional methods of joint replacement surgery.
The Stryker Mako system assists patients in getting back to an active lifestyle more quickly than traditional joint replacement methods, whether it be a seaside walk, a game of golf or returning to work.
