A comprehensive psychology assessment will be provided to evaluate all factors relevant to a person’s current experience.
Our team evaluates the difficulties presently impacting on a patient's life and work to develop an individually tailored plan built from evidence-based psychological models. The service can also provide private psychological evaluations prior to surgical procedures and medico-legal reports for the courts.

The private psychology service can further provide help with managing physical health problems, such as cancer, chronic pain, fatigue, functional symptoms, obesity, hyperactivity and attention difficulties, and medically unexplained symptoms. The service is accessed via direct GP referral or self-referral by contacting the hospital.

The private psychology service is run by Dr Lene Forrester, who is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist chartered by the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health Care Professions Council. She has completed a Ph.D in psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with 20 years' experience in the field of clinical and academic psychology. Dr Forrester is also a published author of books and academic journal articles.
Dr Forrester has special expertise in psychological trauma and psychological medicine. She can provide psychological interventions in English and the Scandinavian languages.
National Clinical guidelines such as SIGN and NICE for certain psychological health problems are quite clear in their recommendations, others depend on the individual person and their difficulties. Generally, one or two psychological treatment sessions can be sufficient to offer advice on how to manage mild problems, whilst moderate psychological problems can be treated in 6-8 sessions. For complex difficulties, further sessions may be required.
