BMI Bishops Wood Hospital Nominated in Prestigious Awards

BMI Bishops Wood Hospital was shortlisted in one of the UK’s most prestigious health awards.

The CHKS Top Hospital Awards celebrate excellence throughout the UK and are given to acute sector organisations for their achievements in healthcare quality and improvement.

BMI Bishops Wood Hospital was nominated as one of five finalists in the Data Quality Awards Independent Hospital section.

The award recognises the importance of clinical coding and data quality, and the essential role they play in ensuring appropriate patient care. BMI Bishops Wood were the only hospital in greater London nominated in this category.

Jason Harries, Managing Director at CHKS said: “Every hospital is accountable to its patients, their families and carers as well as the local community to provide a safe environment.  Our data quality award highlights hospitals that clearly share a commitment to driving improvement and engendering a culture of excellence throughout and it is a credit to the staff at BMI Bishops Wood that it was shortlisted for this award.”

Fraser Dawson, Executive Director at BMI Bishops Wood Hospital said he was delighted that the great work being carried out at the hospital had been recognised by the CHKS judges.

“People outside the world of healthcare may not always recognise the importance of data control within a hospital but I can assure you it is an essential part of the work we do.  I am delighted our efforts have been acknowledged at such a high level and would like to thank everyone who has helped us maintain such consistently high standards in our use of data.”
