The ACU Chelsfield Park Hospital offers a wide range of assisted conception therapies. The following are some of the most commonly requested fertility treatments. Further information is freely available on request.
- Intrauterine insemination
- In-vitro fertilisation
- Intracytoplasmic sperm injection
- Embryo cryopreservation (freezing) and frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET)
- Surgical Sperm Retrieval (PESA, TESE)
Other fertility and gynaecological treatments:
Our consultants are practicing Obstetricians and Gynaecologists who have extensive experience and expertise in the medical and surgical management of gynaecological problems that may be contributing to fertility problems such as endometriosis, PCOS and tubal damage. Treatment of these problems may be appropriate instead of, or in conjunction, with assisted conception therapies.
Many conditions are amenable to laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery and our consultants have considerable expertise in this field.
Consultant Urologists with an interest in male fertility problems work closely with the ACU.
What makes you different from other clinics?
We are a small friendly Unit who put patients’ care and concerns at the forefront of our practice. Our dedicated medical and scientific staff work closely together to provide the most appropriate course of treatment for each individual couple, and our nursing and admin staff are there to support patients through the entire treatment process.
Do you have a waiting list?
No. Once referred you will usually receive a clinic appointment within 2-3 weeks.
Do I have to be referred?
Yes. Each couple will need a letter of referral either from their GP, or a consultant Gynaecologist /Urologist.
How long will the treatment take?
Depending on which drug regimen you are on, IVF and ICSI cycles last about 9 weeks, from the start of the drugs to pregnancy test.
What can I do to improve my chances?

Is counselling available free of charge?
Yes. One counselling session is available free of charge to each patient/couple. Sessions are by appointment either at the Unit or in the counsellors own home.
Do you offer Blastocyst transfers?
Yes, available to suitable couples. These will be discussed with you at your consultations.
Can I speak directly to laboratory staff?
Yes, laboratory staff are happy to discuss any problems or queries with you during your treatment.
Do you treat NHS patients
The ACU at BMI Chelsfield Park Hospital currently has the NHS contract for treating NHS patients in the West Kent CCG group.
