The Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Unit based at Goring Hall in West Sussex has been set up, and is run, by a group of healthcare professionals with a like-minded interest in less invasive treatment for conditions of the foot and ankle. The unit offers rapid access to treatment of pathological conditions of the foot and ankle.
Treatments include specialist minimally invasive techniques for:
- Achilles tendonosis
- Plantar fasciitis
- Tibialis posterior tendonosis
- Ankle pain
- Lesser toe deformities
Appropriate investigations are arranged on site including specialist ultrasound, x-ray and physio can be done on the same day. This is particularly convenient for patients coming from further afield.
Patients can also be referred to a specialist physiotherapist, who has a special interest in forefoot biomechanics, for a full biomechanical assessment and treatment. As part of this treatment, we can also offer extra corporeal shockwave therapy which is a very useful non-invasive treatment tool for tendon conditions.
If required, patients may undergo guided selective injections performed our Consultant Radiologist who is a specialist interventionist musculoskeletal radiologist.
