At The Goring Hall Hospital, we offer a variety of knee procedures, the most common of which are:
Knee arthroscopy starting from £4,775*
Knee arthroscopy is a keyhole operation that uses an arthroscope (a thin tube with a camera attached to the end) to diagnose and sometimes to treat problems inside your knee joint. A knee arthroscopy is often used for problems arising from accident or injury, including a torn meniscus (cartilage), a dislocated patella (kneecap), a fracture (a broken bone in your knee) or a tear in one of the ligaments in your knee.
Partial knee replacement surgery starting from £12,950*
The knee joint is made of three parts. Unicompartmental knee replacement surgery, more commonly known as partial knee replacement surgery, is an operation that involves removing and replacing the damaged part of your knee joint with an artificial component, also referred to as prosthesis.
Total knee replacement surgery starting from £12,995*
If more than one part of your knee is damaged, most commonly due to severe arthritis or a knee injury, your Orthopaedic Surgeon could recommend total knee replacement surgery. During this operation, the damaged ends of your tibia (shin bone) and femur (thigh bone) are removed and replaced with a prosthesis. In some cases, the back of your patella (kneecap) could also be replaced which is known as patellofemoral (kneecap) replacement surgery.
Knee revision surgery starting from £23,000*
After about 10 to 15 years, your artificial joint from a knee replacement operation will need to be replaced with a new prosthesis. This procedure is known as knee revision surgery. Your Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Goring Hall Hospital will also recommend a knee revision operation if your prosthesis becomes loose or dislocated (removed from its normal position).
