Mr Abbas Rashid awarded prestigious Travelling Fellowship from SECEC

BMI Hendon Hospital would like to extend our congratulations to Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon Mr Abbas Rashid, who was awarded a fellowship with SECEC – the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow.

The educational annual Travelling Fellowship is awarded to two surgeons each year, to visit specialist shoulder and elbow surgery centres across Europe, working on complex cases with leading surgeons. SECEC – whose purpose is to help provide continuing training of European orthopaedic surgeons specialised in surgery of the shoulder and elbow – selected Mr Rashid from a number of applicants who had to demonstrate experience in patient care and scientific research.

Travelling for four weeks through June 2017, Mr Rashid will be visiting centres in Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and the UK. Mr Rashid said “I’m honoured to have been selected and look forward to visiting surgeons at the forefront of the speciality. I hope to use this opportunity to exchange ideas, establish connections for research and bring best practice to my clinics at UCLH and BMI Hendon.”

Mrs Nicola Goldsmith, Upper Limb Services Manager at BMI Healthcare said, “Many congratulations to Abbas – the Fellowship is prestigious and a great opportunity for him, and of course we’re delighted that a prominent young surgeon is working with us at BMI Hendon hospital.”
