There are many benefits of having a private GP, including:

Personalised care

Your private GP will take the time to understand your circumstances and refer you for treatment tailored to your needs with the right healthcare professional. They will take a holistic approach to your care, considering your emotional and physical wellbeing throughout this important stage in your journey with us.

Access to a range of specialist services

We deliver our GP services within a modern, fully equipped hospital allowing fast access to a range of specialist diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, X-Rays and ultrasound scans, with results typically returned within 48 hours. Your GP will be able to refer you to the right course of treatment as soon as possible following your results.

Quality care and reassurance when you need it most

Our GPs are highly experienced in delivering the highest standards of care, helping ease any anxiety you might have around your health, diagnosing your concern, and referring you to the right specialist to begin your treatment plan.

Easy referrals to our experienced consultants

If your private GP feels you need to see a consultant for further investigations or treatment, they can easily refer you to one of our many specialists who work onsite at Hendon Hospital in North London.

There are many reasons why you and your family might seek out the services of a private GP. Common reasons people come to our private GPs include:

  • Ongoing medical care and management of chronic illnesses
  • Health screening (health assessment)
  • Men's health
  • Women's health
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Menopause

  • STD testing and sexual health
  • Stopping smoking advice and prescriptions
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Medication review
  • Back pain assessment
  • Cholesterol and blood pressure check

A second opinion

Many people visit our private GPs in order to get a second opinion after speaking with their regular GP. You can visit our private general practitioners as a one-off, for a course of treatment, or as a permanent patient. The choice is yours.

Health assessments

Your private GP will be able to offer you a health assessment. A health assessment, also known as a health check, is a thorough check-up of your overall health. Health checks are performed by specialists to help you gain a better understanding of your physical and mental wellbeing. Health checks often focus on preventative health. They are performed to detect problems in their early stages, as well as risk factors for certain conditions that might be hereditary. Health checks can also detect more advanced health problems that haven't yet been discovered, helping you get diagnosed and find the right treatment fast.

Women's Health

If you have symptoms that could point to a women's health condition such as endometriosis or the menopause, and would like help and advice on how to manage or treat your symptoms, or perhaps are looking for an onward referral to a specialist, our private GPs are here to help.

We offer a range of diagnostic services through our private GP service, including:

MRI scans

Your private GP will have access to state-of-the-art MRI scanning facilities. An MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of your body. An MRI scan can be used to diagnose a wide variety of conditions and injuries, but it is commonly used to examine your brain, spine, abdomen and pelvis. It can help your doctor decide what treatment is right for you, and later how well that treatment works.

CT scans

Our expert radiographers are trained in carrying out CT scans. A CT scan is a special, more detailed type of X-Ray that takes pictures of organs and structures inside your body. It is used to create a 3-D picture of your body. CT scans are commonly performed on your head and abdomen. A CT scan might become part of your treatment plan to check the effectiveness of ongoing treatment at various stages throughout your journey with us. In other cases, a CT might be recommended if treatment has not helped to manage your condition and your doctors want to see why.

Ultrasound scans

An ultrasound scan uses a probe that emits high frequency wave sounds to produce detailed images of an organ inside your body. You can't hear the sound waves because they are so high, but they bounce off parts of your body, creating echoes that are received by a probe and turned into a moving image. An ultrasound scan can be used to monitor an unborn baby, diagnose a condition, or guide your consultant during certain procedures. It can be used to look at all soft tissue structures and blood vessels, but it can't look at bones in detail (an X-Ray, MRI, or CT scan is required for this).

Blood tests

We offer a variety of blood tests, including a full blood count (FBC), bone marrow tests, marker studies, and glandular fever screening. Blood testing can help you understand a great deal about the nature of your health, helping diagnose and monitor the effectiveness of treatment for a variety of conditions.
