It can help your doctor decide what treatment is right for you, and later how well that treatment works.

CT scans

Our expert radiographers are trained in carrying out CT scans. A CT scan is a special, more detailed type of X-Ray that takes pictures of organs and structures inside your body. It is used to create a 3-D picture of your body. CT scans are commonly performed on your head and abdomen. A CT scan might become part of your treatment plan to check the effectiveness of ongoing treatment at various stages throughout your journey with us. In other cases, a CT might be recommended if treatment has not helped to manage your condition and your doctors want to see why.

Ultrasound scans

An ultrasound scan uses a probe that emits high frequency wave sounds to produce detailed images of an organ inside your body. You can't hear the sound waves because they are so high, but they bounce off parts of your body, creating echoes that are received by a probe and turned into a moving image. An ultrasound scan can be used to monitor an unborn baby, diagnose a condition, or guide your consultant during certain procedures. It can be used to look at all soft tissue structures and blood vessels, but it can't look at bones in detail (an X-Ray, MRI, or CT scan is required for this).

Blood tests
