We treat a wide range of conditions, from ovarian cysts to hysterectomies. Among the main treatments we offer include:

Hysterectomy surgery

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure which involves the removal of the womb. The procedure can be needed for a variety of reasons. The procedure can be performed in three ways: vaginally, abdominally or laparoscopically.

Our consultants provide a complete service, from pre-surgery to aftercare.

Gynaecological laparoscopy and hysteroscopy

The gynaecological laparoscope is a small telescope that is used to investigate the pelvic area. This can help a consultant determine what condition you may have.

A hysteroscopy is performed to look inside the cervix and uterus to diagnose and treat uterine conditions.

Vaginal wall repair

Vaginal wall repair is a procedure used to treat a vaginal prolapse. The vaginal wall can prolapse in two ways, from the front of the vaginal wall (anterior) or from the back wall (posterior).

An anterior colporrhaphy is the repair to the front of the vaginal wall. The procedure is performed to strengthen it and prevent bulging from the bladder into the vaginal wall.

The posterior colporrhaphy is the repair to the rear of the vaginal wall. It is performed to strengthen the wall and prevent bulging from the rectum into the vaginal wall.

Oophorectomy surgery

An oophorectomy is the removal of either one or both of your ovaries. This can be performed in two ways - either as a unilateral oophorectomy (one ovary) or bilateral oophorectomy (both ovaries).

If you require this surgery your consultant will explain the procedure and any concerns, you may have in as much detail as you need.

Sterilisation reversal

A sterilisation is intended to be permanent, however a reversal is sometimes possible, but the outcome is not guaranteed.

The procedure is performed using keyhole surgery so that it is minimally invasive. The fallopian tubes are reconnected to reverse the sterilisation.
