In November last year, the CQC attended BMI Shirley Oaks Hospital and completed a full inspection of the hospital, which had previously been rated as required improvement. All members of staff clearly demonstrated to CQC inspectors that they are committed to continually learning and improving services. It capably demonstrated a good understanding of quality improvement methods and that they have the skills to use them. As a result, they were rated as good across the board in all five domains.
The CQC’s report highlighted that inspectors witnessed integrity, ability and a commendable understanding of priorities and issues. Shirley Oaks leadership team has successfully shared the vision for what it wants to achieve and created a strategy to turn it into action by working with every stakeholder.
Annette Sharp, Executive Director stated: 'We are delighted with the outcome and with 'Good' in all five domains, this is testament to the hard work of the staff. The CQC recognised that we are a team which works together to ensure we are aligned in working for the benefit of its patient’s.
