At Syon Clinic our consultant dermatologists provide treatment for both medical and cosmetic purposes, including the following:
Curettage/cryotherapy of lesions of skin
Cryotherapy uses extreme cold, which can be used in a highly targeted way to treat skin conditions such as warts and verruca’s. This may be recommended if over-the counter treatments containing salicylic acid have been unsuccessful.
The freezing of the affected area is achieved with liquid nitrogen, which then scabs and drops off along with dead skin cells. It may take a few sessions to work completely, and after treatment, most people find that the skin doesn’t show a sign of were the lesion used to be. However, in some cases a white mark or scar may be left.
Skin Lesion Removal
Skin lesions are found on or just under the skin, examples including moles, skin tags, lipomata, and cysts.
The procedure to remove the skin lesions is performed under local anaesthetic and only takes around 15 to 25 minutes.
