The Alexandra Hospital, in Cheadle, was recognised as one of the best hospitals in the UK for hip replacement surgery and the only private hospital to appear in the listing. This is because the hospital has one of the lowest proportions of hip revision surgery. Hip revision surgery is only necessary if the patient’s hip has become damaged or infected after surgery. Marge Falconer, the Executive Director at The Alexandra Hospital, stated: ‘I am incredibly proud of our medical teams and the consultants that choose to practice at BMI The Alexandra Hospital. The Alexandra is a well-established private hospital, with a fantastic reputation and low infection scores. It is therefore not surprising to me that we have been ranked in the top seven for hip replacement surgery. Our multi-disciplinary teams are experienced and professional. I am very grateful for the service they give to our patients. ’

Mr Nick Kenny a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, and Medical Advisory Committee Chairman, at BMI The Alexandra Hospital has been a consultant for over 25 years: ‘The main benefit of hip replacement surgery is to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Following a successful hip replacement, a patient should be able to move more freely, without pain, and subsequently have a better quality of life. The Alexandra Hospital prides itself on delivering safe and effective surgery in a professional and caring environment. The multi-disciplinary teams that I work with at The Alexandra pride themselves on delivering excellent healthcare; which in turn minimises the risk of infection and the need for hip revision surgery.’

BMI The Alexandra Hospital is located in Cheshire, on the boarder of Greater Manchester, and provides a wide range of medical and surgical procedures to thousands of patients each year.  For more information, about the hospital, please visit: or call 0161 428 3656.
