The new Executive Director of BMI The Alexandra Hospital, in Cheadle, Cheshire, has started her role to the sounds of a collective cheer as the Hospital was shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
Days before Marge Falconer joined the private hospital, in Mill Lane, Cheadle, it received notification that it had been shortlisted by LaingBuisson for Private Hospital of the Year, 2018.
Miss Falconer, who was previously the Executive Director at BMI Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, said she was extremely proud and felt it an honour to manage and lead the team at BMI Healthcare’s flagship hospital.
“I always strive for perfection and I want every patient at The Alex to be treated as we would want a loved one to be treated,” she said.
“This short-listing has shown that the team here has what it takes to deliver outstanding healthcare and from what I have already seen I know that they are on a good path. BMI The Alexandra Hospital is now the largest private hospital outside London and provides some of the most complex, cutting edge medical care available.”
Miss Falconer has a strong background in clinical management and hospital leadership, having qualified as a graduate nurse and progressing up the clinical ladder to be a ward sister in a major London teaching hospital, to then moving to more managerial positions and in the last 14 working as a Hospital Executive Director.
Chris Buckingham, regional director for BMI The Alexandra’s parent company BMI Healthcare, said: “Marge’s passion for safe and quality healthcare has been evident throughout her time at BMI and I know she will be a great asset to the team at The Alex. She is joining at a time when the hospital has been shortlisted for a major national award and her drive and enthusiasm will continue to raise the bar still higher.”
