Private Cancer Care Manchester

At The Alexandra Hospital we have a long history of providing a compassionate and clinically excellent private oncology service for patients who live in Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Oncology is a specialist branch of medicine that deals with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The Oncology team at The Alexandra Hospital provides expert support, care and treatment for people with cancer. While many of our patients are from Manchester, others travel from further afield for their private Oncology treatment.

Cancer affects everybody differently and we know just how hard a cancer diagnosis can be to you and your loved ones. When you choose to have your cancer treatment at The Alexandra Hospital, you will be looked after every step of the way, with treatment tailored to your specific needs.

Our highly-experienced multidisciplinary team is led by Oncology Consultants from The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and some of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK. Our dedicated Oncology unit offers easy access to on-site state-of-the-art technology, including MRI, CT scanning and Nuclear Medicine where required.

We continue to maintain the highest standards of COVID safety as per the NHS and Government guidance for healthcare settings.

All our patients benefit from access to:

  • Private consulting rooms
  • A number of individual chemotherapy chair rooms with access to a TV
  • Inpatient bedrooms with en-suite facilities
  • A private and comfortable coffee lounge for you and your family to use during your visit

We also offer cryotherapy (cold therapy) to specific patients, if required. Cryotherapy can reduce peripheral neuropathy (weakness, numbness or pain, normally in the legs or arms) and nail toxicities during chemotherapy.

For those patients receiving treatment that causes hair loss, Paxman Scalp Cooling technology, the leading product for prevention of hair loss from chemotherapy, can be given.
