At BMI The Alexandra Hospital we have a long history of providing a compassionate and clinically excellent oncology service for patients who live in Cheshire and Manchester.
Back in July 2010, star of the Coronation Street cobbles and British Soap Lifetime Achievement award winner, the late Betty Driver, officially reopened the suite following an extensive refurbishment. While the refurbishment was taking place, we engaged with our consultants, our staff, and you, our patients to understand how we could provide the best possible treatment.
The Richmond Oncology Centre means that onsite at The Alexandra Hospital we have a multi-disciplinary team of experienced oncological specialists and consultants, including oncologists, radiologists and palliative care consultants, whose NHS practices are based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Central Manchester University Hospital's NHS Foundation Trust. This team is fully supported by our highly trained nurses who are specialised in the administration of chemotherapy.
The centre offers:
- Consulting rooms
- A number of individual chemotherapy chair rooms
- Inpatient bedrooms including a large bedroom for barrier nursing
- A private and comfortable coffee lounge for you to use while you wait
We are also on call 24 hours a day to triage and assess patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments. With all this in mind, you can feel safe in the knowledge that Richmond Oncology Centre is here for you every step of the way.
As of 2015, we are proud to have achieved the MacMillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM), meaning that here at The Alexandra Hospital we are recognised for providing outstanding standards of care and quality facilities for our patients.
