Expert assessment and treatment for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) conditions
Our consultant ENT surgeons can help diagnose, treat or manage any disorder of the ear, neck and throat in order to help improve quality of life. We offer fast, direct and convenient appointments where the consultant can decide the best route for you and develop a tailor made treatment package.
Our ENT clinic can diagnose and treat the following conditions:
Sinus surgery is performed to help treat sinusitis – an infection of the mucous membrane that lines your sinuses. Those suffering with sinusitis will often experience symptoms of pain, a blocked nose, discharge, reduced sense of smell and the feeling of mucus at the rear of the nose or throat.
Sinusitis usually occurs as a result of trapped mucus between the sinus and inside of the nose becoming infected. This can cause the mucus membrane to become inflamed, causing swelling and additional folds in the sinus and nose; these are small growths referred to as Polyps.
The main aim of sinus surgery is to widen the passage between the sinus and the nose to prevent mucus becoming trapped in the future.
A tonsillectomy is a procedure in which the tonsils are removed. The main purposes of the tonsils are to help prevent infection from germs which we breathe in or swallow.
Frequent and sever episodes of tonsillitis, an infection of the tonsils which causes them to swell and sufferers to experience sore throats, fevers and trouble swallowing, is the most common reason to undergo a tonsillectomy. However this procedure can also help treat sleep-disordered breathing such as sleep apnoea and snoring.
