Quick and easy access to our team of private gynaecologists
The Beardwood Hospital offers a wide range of gynaecology services with our experienced team of consultant gynaecologists. Supporting services including imaging and urology are also available on site to ensure fast diagnosis and treatment.
During a consultation, your consultant will assess your condition and give you their diagnosis. Should further diagnostic tests be required, these will be fully explained to you during your consultation.
Procedures available at The Beardwood include:
Hysterectomy surgery can be performed to remove the womb (uterus). The procedure can help patients who have been experiencing long term pelvic pain, heavy periods or those who have non-cancerous or cancerous tumours.
We offer a variety of hysterectomy surgeries from laparoscopic (key hole) to vaginal hysterectomies and abdominal hysterectomies.
Consultants perform gynaecological laparoscopies to treat or diagnose a condition. Through this procedure the consultant can see inside your lower abdomen with the use of the laparoscope (a tiny camera).
Conditions such as endometriosis and ovarian cysts can be diagnosed and treated by a gynaecological laparoscopy.
Another procedure for diagnosis that is performed at The Beardwood Hospital is a hysteroscopy. This examines the inside of the womb by passing a narrow tube with a camera on the end through your vagina and images are sent to a monitor for a consultant to examine.
Vaginal wall repair surgery is performed to correct a prolapse. There are two types of vaginal prolapses that can be treated; an anterior colporrhaphy to correct a prolapse of the bladder into the vagina or a posterior colporrhaphy to repair the rear vaginal wall and place the rectum to its normal position.
An oophorectomy is surgery to remove either one or both of your ovaries. This procedure may be performed for one of the following reasons: an abscess including on the ovary, ovarian cancer or endometriosis.
