BMI Blackheath Hospital marked its new imaging suite with an official opening by BMI Healthcare’s Chief Executive Officer Karen Prins.

The new suite provides patients with new equipment including MRI and CT scanners and also updated facilities to make their experience all the more comfortable.

Consultant Radiologist Dr Anna Leslie said that the new suite would be of benefit for the patients and allow Blackheath to provide a much improved service to them.

She said: “This is a fantastic space, and you can see that the suite has been updated to a high standard with specialist new equipment including wide bore MRI and low dose 160 slice CT as well as a very spacious new digital xray room.”

In opening the unit, Karen Prins said “I’m really pleased to be able to open this unit and show the significant investment made to BMI Blackheath Hospital. The facilities here will be very beneficial and enhance the service our staff and Consultants give to our patients.”

Executive Director Stephen Smith said that the layout of the new unit was created with the patient in mind, in order to provide a smooth patient journey.“ I’m so pleased that this investment will further support not only the imaging team but also the wider community in Blackheath”.

The service is not only for insured and NHS patients but also for people who choose to pay for their own healthcare treatment and is the result of a significant investment by the hospital’s parent company BMI Healthcare.
