Kelly Rothwell, MCSP
Kelly is a Clinical Services Manager for Physiotherapy with over 24 years’ experience in the NHS, education, occupational health and private sectors. Kelly qualified with a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of East London (affiliated to the Royal London Hospital) in 1993. She has worked at Blackheath Hospital for eight years.
Kelly has gained post-graduate specialisms in Sports Physiotherapy (‘PG Diploma AP Phys Sports’ from Queen Marys, University of London, in1997), Women’s health (‘PG Certificate; Continence’ from UEL in 2004) and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from University of East London in 2009. Her later qualification as a medicolegal expert witness also enables case referrals to the department.
She has great pride in her team as they are all excellent generalist physiotherapists but each has developed a special interest of note. Together, they form a very comprehensive, progressive team. The team are dedicated to keeping up to date with the latest research to ensure the receipt of the highest quality interventions and equipment for patients. They collaborate closely with each other and the Consultants and to provide the swiftest, most effective recoveries for their patients.
Kelly manages the staff and services across both inpatient and outpatient sites at BMI Blackheath Hospital and has special interests in acupuncture, vestibular and lower limb rehabilitation.

Gilliam Fox, MCSP
Gillian qualified as a Physiotherapist from The University of Brighton in 2002 and worked in the NHS setting for three years. She has worked at BMI Blackheath Hospital since 2006 as an Outpatient Physiotherapist, but also specialises in Women’s and Men’s Health Physiotherapy.
She has a Post-Graduate certificate in Women’s Health Physiotherapy from the University of Bradford. In Women’s and Men’s Health she will see people with incontinence issues and also help in the management of prolapses. She will also see ante-natal and post-natal pregnancy related conditions. Gillian treats a range of musculoskeletal conditions and predominantly uses manual therapy, exercise and acupuncture. She will also see patients for post-operative rehabilitation.
Hussam Lashin, MCSP
Hussam has over 17 years of experience as a Physiotherapist since qualifying from Cairo University. Hussam has worked over a variety of settings from being selected as a personal physiotherapist to Sheikhs in the Gulf, to working within world class rehabilitation units for orthopaedic and spinal injuries.
Over the years he has developed osteopathic and Pilates techniques to assist with the treatment of back pain. Hussam has been working at BMI Blackheath Hospital for over seven years where he has further developed his post-operative and musculoskeletal skills. Hussam uses a variety of manual, manipulative and exercise techniques to assist patient’s recoveries. His areas of special interests are spinal and lower limb rehabilitation.
Victoria Reboredo, MCSP
Victoria graduated as a Physiotherapist from Coruna University in Spain in 2009. After her rotations in the public health sector, she specialised in the orthopaedics and musculoskeletal field in private hospital and clinic settings. In 2014 she reached the Postgraduate degree from Autonoma University in Madrid in respiratory and paediatric physiotherapy.
Victoria is specialised in Pilates, dry needling, Mulligan, Kinesio taping and functional therapeutic movement and assessment. She moved to London in 2015 and since then has been working in different NHS hospitals, orthopaedics and the private sports sector, as well as Occupational Health. She is currently studying a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Bath.
Victoria is very interested in keeping up to date with evidence based practice, which led her to do a collaboration teaching a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at Fernando Pessoa’s University and she attended several CPD events. She is part of the musculoskeletal interest group in BMI as well as the organiser of CPD activities in the department.
Victoria is a member of the Physiotherapy Association for Extended Scope Practitioners. The goal of her treatment is combining different techniques to achieve the best outcome possible for each patient and a quick return to normal function. Victoria has a special interest in post-operative physiotherapy, sports injury management and return to physical activity, as well as shoulder and upper limb conditions.
Karen Gambardella, MCSP
Karen studied Physiotherapy at King’s College London and graduated in 2007. Following this, she spent seven years working for the NHS, progressing to become a Senior Physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal Outpatients.
Karen began working for BMI Blackheath Hospital in 2015 where she assesses and treats a variety of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions in the Physiotherapy Outpatient department.
Karen has completed additional courses, qualifying her to teach Pilates to an advanced level and regularly uses this as part of her treatment plans alongside manual therapy techniques and kinesiology taping as appropriate. Karen has a special interest in Isokinetic rehabilitation and is also skilled in the assessment and treatment of pelvic girdle pain both during pregnancy and post-partum.
Esther Hamm, MCSP
Esther qualified in 1983. She spent 25 years working in the NHS and has been working in the private sector for the past seven years.
Esther has specialised in women’s health physiotherapy and the treatment of both adult and paediatric musculoskeletal conditions.
Esther has a CSP endorsed qualification in women’s health physiotherapy. She will treat ladies suffering from incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse as well as ante and post-natal pregnancy related conditions.
Esther will assess and treat adults and children with musculoskeletal conditions and those needing post-operative rehabilitation.
Priya Gir, SROT
Priya qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Oxford Brookes University in 2003 and worked in the NHS setting for thirteen years. She has worked in Hand therapy for ten years. During this time she has managed and developed a hand therapy service in the NHS.
She started working at BMI Blackheath Hospital in 2016 as a Senior Hand Therapist, working with people with hand and wrist injuries and conditions. Priya works closely with the Upper Limb Consultants to ensure efficient and effective treatment following any surgical procedure. Priya uses a range of treatments to rehabilitate her patients, which include splinting, manual therapy, scar management, oedema management and activity modification.
