Hospital executive director Fraser Dawson said: “Our aim is to provide safe, high quality care with children being at the centre of all we do, so we are delighted with the new unit.
“We have a small play area, including a miniature sports car that children can use to drive themselves to theatre. We have recruited an excellent team of nurses for the service, who will work alongside our skilled theatre teams to make hospital visits and stays as comfortable for our young patients as possible.”
Gareth Ainsworth said: “It’s every parent’s worst nightmare when their child needs to go to hospital but we know from our experience of working with Fraser and his team that they’ll be in very safe hands at the new children’s unit at BMI The Chiltern Hospital.
“The hospital has been a fantastic support for our players when they’ve needed medical treatment and diagnostics, and we’re only too happy to play our part in the official opening of this new facility.”
The new paediatric service is the latest investment in BMI The Chiltern Hospital currently undergoing a period of transformation and investment that will include a newly refurbished Outpatients and reception area.
