  • General
  • Musculoskeletal / joints
  • Urology including trans-rectal examinations and biopsy of the prostate
  • Vascular
  • Gynaecology
  • Thyroid
  • Eye
  • Abdomen and pelvis

We also provide ultrasound guided interventions/examinations including:

  • Joint injection – diagnostic and therapeutic
  • Aspiration
  • Biopsy
  • Fluid drainage

Breast Imaging

The breast imaging service provides comprehensive breast imaging service including:

  • Full field digital mammography
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Fine needle aspiration
  • Core biopsy

Our breast radiologists perform all examinations along with our Radiographers who work cohesively with our consultant breast surgeons and breast care nurses, ensuring you receive the highest standard of compassion and care.

MRI Scanning

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become an invaluable tool in the detection and monitoring of many diseases. It uses a combination of strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the body, without the risk of ionising radiation and with minimum discomfort to the patient.

Our MRI unit is home to a Siemens 1.5 Tesla Scanner, and a 1.5 Tesla Mobile Scanner. These imaging devices are capable of scanning all parts of the body, producing high quality resolution scans in 20-40 minutes (depending on the part of the body being scanned.) The MRI unit is open 7 days per week, meaning that you can also come and see us for your scan at the weekend.

MRI scans can show muscles, joints, bone marrow, blood vessels, nerves and other structures within your body, MRI examinations available include:

  • Head
  • Spine
  • Musculoskeletal / joints
  • Abdomen and pelvis
  • Breast
  • Chest
  • Cardiac
  • Vascular

To book an appointment for MRI Scanning please call us at 0208 872 3903.

CT scanner

CT scanning is a sophisticated diagnostic tool which provides detailed images of various structures within the body.

The CT scanner benefits from high resolution imaging capability producing excellent image quality, a larger scanner diameter with faster scanning to help reduce the effects of claustrophobia, assist with patient comfort and improve the overall patient experience.

CT scanning examinations available include:

  • Head
  • Spine
  • Musculoskeletal / joints
  • Abdomen
  • Pelvis
  • Chest
  • Cardiac
  • Vascular

Fluoroscopy screening and interventional procedures

At BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital we provide fluoroscopy screening which uses x-rays to obtain images of the required body part. Our team of dedicated Interventional Radiologists and Radiographers provide you with a fully integrated service throughout your treatment.

Nuclear medicine

We’re also very pleased to announce the installation of our new SPECT/CT scanner.

The scanner can take a range of nuclear medicine examinations for the diagnosis, management and treatment of the conditions. The SPECT/CT scanner combines functional 3D information provided by Nuclear Medicine imaging (SPECT scan) with the framework of a low-dose CT scan.  The images are then fused together to provide highly accurate anatomical and functional detail in 3D.  It allows medical specialists to pinpoint the exact location of any abnormality more accurately.

Highly detailed information is provided by a SPECT/CT scan.  A detailed analysis of internal organs, bone structures and tissue is provided.  A SPECT/CT can be performed on any part of the body depending on the clinical history and current diagnosis.

To make an appointment for a SPECT CT Scanning please call 0208 872 3701.

The O-arm®
