Staff at BMI The Droitwich Spa Hospital have been very busy over the festive period, collecting supplies for the local food bank. Some rummaged deep inside their kitchen cupboards; whereas others went to the supermarket and purchased additional items so they could donate to those less fortunate.
Donations included a variety of long life food items, drinks, Christmas treats, toiletries, household products, dog food and baby supplies and were collected by Droitwich Food Bank last week, to enable local people to have a happier Christmas.
The hospital has since had confirmation from Droitwich Food Bank to say the amount of food and supplies received weighed 198kg, which is heavier than two baby elephants!
Jenny Liggitt, Executive Director at BMI The Droitwich Spa Hospital said, “I was so proud of the amount we managed to collect for the Droitwich Food Bank this year. It’s definitely a very worthy cause and staff at the hospital have really excelled with their donations this year, doubling our total from last year!”
