General Radiography

Our dedicated general x-ray rooms deal with all x-ray procedures including orthopaedic radiography, intravenous and urography. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and aimed to accommodate all patients. All images taken are scanned into our Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and these images are available to view in all our Hospitals. We also have the ability to transmit images externally through electronic means and we can also print images onto film and burn them onto CD’s if required.

These services are also available at our sister hospital –The Cavell Hospital.

Digital Mammography

The mammography unit is staffed by fully accredited radiographers and offers general mammography as well as more specialised views. The machine is outfitted for digital stereotactic localisation to aid biopsy and fine needle aspiration of soft tissue lesions. Our consultant radiologists performing these techniques are specialists in this field.

We are the only Independent Sector Hospital in North London that is able to offer a Vacuum Assisted Biopsy (Mammotome) to patients, along with the use of a Faxitron allowing effective patient diagnostics.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

A full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations are available at the hospitals. These range from general abdomen and pelvic, obstetrics and gynaecology, to follicular tracking, breast imaging and soft tissue joints. Ultrasound guided breast and trans rectal prostatic biopsies and drainage procedures are also undertaken by our consultants. 4D baby bonding scans are also available by appointment.

These services are also available at our sister hospital – The Cavell Hospital.

Echocardiography

An echocardiogram (echo) uses a dedicated ultrasound machine but is optimised for looking at the heart only, and we are one of the few Independent Sector hospitals in London with a specialised scanner in a dedicated cardiology room. An echocardiogram gives accurate information on the structure of the heart, the valves, and how well the heart is able to pump.

It can be a useful test if you have recently had a heart attack or if you have heart failure. This is also used regularly to assess people with heart valve problems or congenital heart disease. We also undertake stress echocardiograms and TransOesophageal Echocardiograms (TOE’s).
We have a dedicated Cardiology PACS - Ultralinq – which allows our clinicians to view their patient’s images and reports from any web based PC in the World.

MRI, CT scanning and DEXA

Bone Densitometry services are available at our sister hospital, The Cavell Hospital.
