BMI Healthcare has appointed a new Executive Director and Director of Clinical Services to lead the teams at The Kings Oak and The Cavell Hospitals in Enfield.
Andrew Jeavons-Fellows steps up from the smaller BMI Hendon Hospital. Jayne Wakefield is promoted into the role, having been in senior clinical roles at the hospitals for over 15 years.
Altogether, Andrew and Jayne will be overseeing some 280 staff across the two sites and working alongside more than 250 top Consultants who provide care for nearly 70,000 patients at Kings Oak & Cavell hospitals each year.
Mr Jeavons-Fellows said: “The dedication of the staff and the commitment of colleagues attracted me to this role. I will bring the experience I have gained at BMI Hendon and previous roles in healthcare to the teams, and I look forward to working alongside the Consultants – many of whom I know from Hendon – to build on the high quality care we give the people of Enfield.”
Mrs Wakefield added “We have expertise in looking after patients with a wide range of needs, but as a breast care nurse specialist I’m particularly proud of our cancer care services at Cavell. I’m also looking forward to providing clinical leadership to our new Urgent Care Centre that will be open later this year at Cavell, and developing our new paediatric service at Kings Oak.”
Both BMI hospitals provide services for people who choose to pay for their own care, are covered by private medical insurance or those who are referred by their GP for NHS-funded procedures.
Mr Jeavons-Fellows joins the Hospitals after three years as Executive Director at BMI Hendon hospital, where he led the team to achieve a Good rating from the CQC and secured investment for a new day-case unit, endoscopy equipment and refurbishment work. He developed GP services with EdgCARE, renamed the Ward after the hospital’s founder, finalised a partnership with Barnet FC and worked with local NHS colleagues to help tackle long waiting lists.
