Healthy skin is important to our overall wellbeing, fitness and vitality.

Do you have concerns about your hair, skin, or nails? We know how worrying these conditions can be and the impact they can have on your day-to-day life.

Our leading dermatology consultants can help you:

  • Get immediate access to the right treatment for conditions that often have long waiting times
  • Improve your quality of life – including better sleep – free from the itching, discomfort, and other symptoms that often go along with dermatological conditions
  • Be happier with how you look and feel
  • Have a full skin-check and, if necessary, treat potential skin cancer symptoms
  • Manage long-term conditions, including those triggered by factors such as stress or changes in environment

Dermatology is not just about the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions. In fact, the specialty finds solutions to issues affecting skin, hair, and nails.

Our leading dermatologists treat a wide range of conditions, which can be caused by:

  • irritants
  • allergens
  • diseases (such as cancer)
  • stress
  • autoimmunity
  • genetic factors

Our dermatology consultants are highly experienced at diagnosing the causes of your condition, whatever they may be – for example, pinpointing rosacea –often mistaken for acne – or getting to the bottom of what is causing eczema (which can be genetic, caused by allergies, or even exacerbated by the wrong treatment or the impact of an unrelated treatment).

We offer a wide range of treatments, based on what will work best for you as an individual. These include:

  • Topical treatments (creams) – from advising you on the right moisturiser for your skin, to the correct steroid cream at the right strength
  • Further treatment – if creams don’t (or won’t) work for you then we will look at options that could include tablets, antibiotics, immunosuppressive treatments, steroid injections, surgery or cryotherapy
  • A new skincare routine – you might not need a medical solution, you might simply be using the wrong products for your skin

If some form of treatment is necessary, our dermatologists cover a wide range of medical and surgical solutions, including many treatments that may be considered 'cosmetic' outside of private healthcare.

Common medical dermatology conditions we treat include:

  • Acne (Spots and oily skin)
  • Rosacea (redness and visible blood vessels in your face)
  • Eczema (itchy, cracked and sore skin)
  • Psoriasis (patches of skin that are dry, red and covered in silver scales)

We put the patient experience at the heart of everything we do. From the first moment you come to us to the moment you are discharged, we aim to make the process as speedy, comfortable and reassuring as possible for you.

While there is no 'typical' patient, you can expect to go through these steps:

Referral

We accept patients via referrals from GPs or health insurance providers, as well as private patients who can book a consultation online.

Consultation

You will meet the dermatologist consultant for 20-30 consultation to discuss your specific circumstances and needs. This gives us enough time to understand your concerns and medical history which will help ensure you receive the correct diagnosis.

Once your consultant has made their diagnosis, they will take you through different techniques available for treating your condition or, if necessary, suggest appropriate surgery. At this consultation stage you might also be referred to another one of our specialty consultants, if our dermatologists feel their colleague would be better suited to meeting your needs.

This multi-disciplinary approach is crucial to making to sure you get the best possible treatment from the most appropriate consultant. This approach also means you can be reassured that we will stay with you throughout your journey; your treatment will be a seamless experience, with everything you need 'under one roof' in an environment that is clean and safe, and where you come first.

In the case of dermatology, your consultant might, for example, refer you to one of their highly-trained colleagues who specialise in complex surgery, immunology, or a number of other areas. The most important thing is you are seen and treated by the expert consultant best suited to your specific circumstances.

Treatment and after-care

Many treatments can be obtained immediately at our on-site pharmacy. If we prescribe injections, these are often done on the same day, while some more complex solutions may need to scheduled for the following one-to-two weeks.

If you do not require surgery we will also schedule a follow-up appointment one-to-three months later (dependent on the condition) so we can assess your progress.

If surgery is required, we aim to schedule for the following week or two after your consultation. This will be followed up with another appointment to assess your progress one-to-three months later, again depending on your specific circumstances.
