PHYSIOTHERAPY

Our team of chartered physiotherapists have specialist knowledge, skills and experience working in sports injury rehabilitation.

Should you choose to come to Physiotherapy at The Manor Hospital for your treatment, you will receive a comprehensive initial assessment with a physiotherapist to help diagnose the problem. If deemed necessary following the assessment they can refer you on for a scan or for further investigation with an Orthopaedic Consultant.

Following diagnosis your physiotherapist will then work with you to build an individual and tailored treatment plan, centred around your requirements and lifestyle.

Whilst we will always aim to achieve rehabilitation with physiotherapy, sometimes issues that continue to persist may need additional intervention. In those instances, your Physiotherapists can refer you directly onto one of our Consultant Specialists for further treatment, saving time and making the journey to recovery as smooth as possible for you.

Our Physiotherapy services are provided both for inpatient’s rehabilitation and for outpatients who self-refer. The problems we treat include but are not limited to:

DIAGNOSTICS

At The Manor Hospital we benefit from on-site access to a range of diagnostics facilities including X-Ray and Ultrasound and we have a multi-disciplinary team of experts who can help facilitate fast onward referral where required.

Operated by a team of fully accredited and highly skilled Radiographers, Specialist Consultant Radiologists and friendly Imaging Assistants, our diagnostic imaging and MRI services include:

• Barium enema

Examinations usually take between 20 and 40 minutes but not all of that time is taken up by actual scanning.

In order to enhance the image of certain parts of the body, a contrast agent may be given orally or intravenously. Patients may, therefore, be required to arrive an hour before their examination time so that this can be administered.
