Dermatology

At BMI The Park Hospital our consultant dermatologists and skin cancer specialists, can offer diagnosis and treatment for various skin conditions in adults and children.

Whether you are concerned about an abnormal skin growth, a mole or an unusual rash, our consultant dermatologists will provide you with excellent customer service and patient-focused healthcare – often with no need for a GP referral.

Dermatology services and treatments include:

Skin lesion removal

Skin growths such as moles, warts, skin tags and cysts are usually harmless and don’t cause any pain or discomfort. However, you may consider having a skin growth removed if it is catching on clothing or affecting your self-esteem.

At The Park Hospital our dermatologists can remove your unwanted skin growth with care and minimal scarring.

Mole Removal

Our experienced consultant dermatologists understand that moles can cause irritation, can catch on clothing and may cause you to feel self-conscious or worried.

If you are concerned about a particular mole, our consultants will be able to provide you with a thorough examination, diagnosis and recommend a suitable treatment plan.

Skin biopsy

A skin biopsy is used to investigate skin growths and abnormalities on the skin. A small tissue sample is taken from the affected area and sent to the laboratory for further testing.

A skin biopsy may be used for patients who have an abnormal growth or rash, or a mole that has changed in size, shape or colour to determine whether the area is cancerous.

Removal of lipoma

A lipoma is a lumpy benign tumour made of fatty tissue; they most commonly appear on the back, arms, bottom or thighs. Although usually harmless, a lipoma can cause irritation depending on size and location.  If this is the case a dermatologist can remove the lipoma for you, leaving minimal scarring.
