BMI The Park Hospital Investing £1.2M in Cardiac Facility

BMI The Park Hospital in Nottingham celebrated the opening of a brand new cardiac ‘Cath Lab’ with an event to showcase the new equipment.

The £1.2M investment in a high tech, cardiac diagnostic suite at the hospital has significantly expanded the range of high quality cardiac services available to patients in the Nottingham area. James Pearce, Lead Radiographer for the Cath Lab, spoke to consultants, local doctors and hospital staff to explain what the new facility offers for patients in the Nottingham area.

The event also featured a Q&A session with James and a representative from Phillips Healthcare, who have provided the new technology.

The cath lab provides improved and safer imaging quality and software, allowing medical staff to carry out diagnoses and treatments for more complex vascular and cardiac cases than before the investment, including blocked arteries in arms and legs.

The equipment also enables staff to send images electronically to hospital trusts where necessary and increases the number of appointments available to patients, providing greater flexibility.

John Lindars, Executive Director at BMI The Park Hospital said: “This fabulous facility will help us continue providing excellent care, by making more state of the art health services available to our patients.

“This substantial investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to patients in the region, to continue providing them with the very best health care possible.”
