Your eyesight is very important and anything that causes you pain, or affects your eyesight, should be dealt with by a professional Ophthalmologist.
At The Park Hospital we can offer the following treatments:
Cataracts occur when the lens in your eye, a small transparent disc, becomes cloudy. It can cause blurry, misty vision and eventually blindness.
An ophthalmologist may recommend cataract surgery to replace the blurry lens in your eye with an artificial one, improving your symptoms.
Eyelid surgery removes unwanted skin and tissue from around the eyes to improve vision, make your eyes appear younger and brighter.
A small incision is made in the natural folds of your eyelid to remove any excess skin and small cysts.
Glaucoma is usually caused by raised pressure within the eye, or a weakness in the nerve. Symptoms of Glaucoma include blurred vision, feeling nauseous and pain in the eye.
Your treatment will depend on the severity of your glaucoma. You may need medicated eye drops or tablets, and in some cases surgery.
Retinal disorders can affect your vision. At The Park Hospital we can provide a diagnosis and treatment plan for all retinal diseases including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, retinoblastoma - cancer of the retina, retinal detachment and floaters – dark specks within your field of vision.
