At The Park Hospital, we offer a Private One-Stop Cardiology Clinic to patients based in Nottingham, Grantham and Newark.

If you have concerns about your heart health, we could give you the reassurance you need. We are open every week, offering patients a one-stop appointment with a private consultant cardiologist.

You’ll have your private consultation, examination, diagnostic tests and results all in one go, helping to quickly alleviate any worries.

What does the Private One Stop Cardiology service in Nottingham include?

You will have an initial consultation with a private consultant cardiologist, and we’ll carry out tests including an ECG and an Echocardiogram. Your consultant will then discuss the results with you, recommending treatments or further diagnostic tests if needed.

What is a private ECG (Electrocardiogram)?

A private ECG (Electrocardiogram) is a test to check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity. We’ll attach sensors to your skin to detect the electrical signals produced by your heart when it beats.

The test is completely painless and takes around 5-10 minutes.

What is a private Echocardiogram?

A private Echocardiogram is an ultrasound scan that provides a detailed view of the structure of your heart, including the muscle and tissue. We use it to see how well your heart is pumping and assess the valves and chambers of your heart.

This test is also painless. It takes about 30-45 minutes.

How much does it cost?

Appointments cost £850, which includes the consultation, the ECG and the Echocardiogram.

Do I need a GP referral?

If you are paying for your own treatment you don’t need a referral from your GP. You can book directly with the clinic.

If you want to use your private medical insurance to pay for an appointment at the clinic, you will need a referral from your GP. Without an appropriate referral your medical insurance company may decline to reimburse you.

What happens if I need further tests?

If you require further investigations (blood tests or scans) you are not obliged to use The Park Hospital's services.

If you do choose to continue your treatment at The Park Hospital, our consultant cardiologist will organise further investigations for you and put together an ongoing treatment plan.

If you decide to continue your care with the NHS, we’ll ask your consent to send a letter to your GP outlining our recommendations for further investigations or treatment.
