A wide range of Diagnostic tests and Imaging examinations can be carried out at BMI The Princess Margaret hospital. Examinations are performed by Consultant Radiologists with a diverse range of specialist expertise and highly experienced HCPC registered radiographers. All imaging is processed using digital electronic technology known as CR (Computed Radiography) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
The general x-ray room provides basic x-ray procedures including abdomen, pelvis and orthopaedic procedures. We offer a rise and fall table, to allow easy access to the x-ray couch, for patients with limited movement.
Our digital fluoroscopy C-arm unit is used for minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures which can involve the insertion of minor medical devices to treat the patient’s condition. It can also be used siumplyor simply to visualize the areas of the body under investigation using contrast medium (a dye which shows up in the body under x-ray).
Full Field Digital Mammography
Our Full Field Digital Mammography Unit allows us to offer enhanced diagnostic breast imaging with high definition mammograms and stereotactic biopsy capability, enabling faster and earlier detection of breast cancer. The design features and mood lighting mean greater comfort and a relaxing environment for the patient. We have accredited Mammography radiographers and consultant breast radiologists who can provide a wide range of breast examinations including breast biopsies.
