Although our private oncology department is a day care unit, we do offer 24 hour care.

Our patients are important to us, and we endeavour to build strong relationships with them and take the time necessary to support them through their chemotherapy journey.

A GP or consultant referral is essential. Self-pay patients are most welcome, insured patients are advised to contact their insurance company before arranging any treatment.

Private Cancer Care Centre at The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor

Patients attending the Private Cancer Centre are seated in individual pods, with additional seating available for visitors, and have full access to our catering services. Patients also have the option to be seated in our double pod for those that wish to have their treatment in an environment where they can share the experience with others. This can often help patients feel less isolated when receiving their treatments.

The Private Cancer Care Centre also houses our oncology consulting rooms, which are used by our private oncologists/haematologists to see their patients and for outpatient clinics. The consulting rooms are generously sized to allow room for relatives and friends to join patients comfortably. The Ashford room is also available for patients / visitors wanting some quiet time.

The Princess Margaret Hospital offers cancer patients holistic treatment including chemotherapy. Chemotherapy treatment will be tailored to the individuals’ needs.

Private Scalp Cooling in Windsor

The Princess Margaret Hospital is able to offer private scalp cooling, a method used to assist with reducing the loss of hair during the course of some treatments with some of the chemotherapeutic drugs.

Although this cannot be recommended to all patients, the dedicated nursing staff will discuss with you the option of scalp cooling. At the hospital we use the Paxman hair loss prevention system which is the one of the latest systems available to maximise patients’ comfort.

We have four machines available for those patients who have the option to use this method.

Private Pharmacy Services in Windsor

The Princess Margaret Hospital has an on-site pharmacy which works closely with the oncology team to provide an efficient service.

Our private pharmacy service also provides all necessary information for your treatment, including the take home medication.

They are available to answer questions and provide support for patients regarding their drug therapy.
