The general x-ray room provides basic x-ray procedures including abdomen, pelvis and orthopaedic procedures. We offer a rise and fall table, to allow easy access to the x-ray couch, for patients with limited movement.
Our digital fluoroscopy C-arm unit is used for minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures which can involve the insertion of minor medical devices to treat the patient’s condition. It can be used to visualize the areas of the body under investigation using contrast medium (a dye which shows up in the body under x-ray).
Our Full Field Digital Mammography Unit allows us to offer enhanced diagnostic breast imaging with high definition mammograms and stereotactic biopsy capability, enabling faster and earlier detection of breast cancer. The design features and mood lighting mean greater comfort and a relaxing environment for the patient. We have accredited Mammography radiographers and consultant breast radiologists who can provide a wide range of breast examinations including breast biopsies.
All types of ultrasound investigation are undertaken by Consultant Radiologists including general abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, breast, trans-rectal, prostate biopsies and vascular studies.
Utilising a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner, we are able to offer a comprehensive MRI service which can investigate a wide range of conditions including neurological, orthopaedic, abdomen, pelvis, gynaecological, prostate and vascular.
We offer a high quality, comprehensive CT service utilising a 64 slice CT scanner with fast scanning times and low dose technology. It can be used to investigate a wide range of conditions including the head, ENT (ear, nose and throat), chest, abdomen, vascular conditions, pelvis, including CT Colonography to visualise the large bowel, and orthopaedic conditions including osteoporosis.
