There are various reasons why you may be considering cosmetic surgery, such as:

  • Breast size or shape: A breast enlargement, breast reduction, or breast uplift, could benefit you if you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts.
  • Excess skin on your stomach: An abdominoplasty, also referred to as a ‘tummy tuck’, can help remove loose skin from your stomach caused by various reasons including pregnancy or substantial weight loss, for example after bariatric surgery.
  • Post-pregnancy: Cosmetic surgery could benefit you if you are unhappy with your body after pregnancy. An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) can help remove loose skin from your stomach, or a breast augmentation (breast implants), breast reduction, or breast uplift could benefit you if you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts postpartum.
  • Substantial weight loss: You could benefit from an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), a thigh lift, or an arm lift, if you are unhappy with excess loose skin after drastic weight loss.
  • Ageing: Ageing is a completely natural process, but it can bring changes that you may not be comfortable with such as deep lines around your nose, mouth, and neck. If you are feeling this way, you could benefit from a face lift with one of our specialists.
  • Nose shape: There are many reasons why you may be considering a rhinoplasty (nose job), for example, breathing issues, the size or shape of your nose, or a previous unsuccessful nose job.

Thornbury Hospital offers a warm, welcoming environment with the latest equipment and techniques for cosmetic surgery. A variety of cosmetic procedures are available, including:

At Thornbury Hospital, your initial consultation will take place with a specialist of your choice, at a time and date to suit you. This consultation is an opportunity to discuss all the options available to you about your area of concern.

Your consultant will discuss suitable treatment options, ensuring you are fully informed about the cosmetic procedure you are considering, along with the reasons behind your decision to have this procedure. They will also discuss your medical history, as well as any past procedures, and they will inform you of what is realistically achievable for you. You will be provided with a detailed leaflet (EIDO) which explains your procedure in depth, as well as before and after photos from your consultant's previous patients.

Most people will not require any scans prior to surgery, however in some scenarios your consultant may request that a scan is completed. For example, a scan may be requested for patients with existing breast implants. If a scan is required, we can arrange this for you with our state-of-the-art imaging facilities, which include X-ray, Mammograms, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound.

Choosing to have a surgical procedure can be a difficult decision, but our team are on hand to support you throughout your journey, ensuring you are fully informed and in control the whole time.

If you decide to go ahead with your procedure, your consultant will support you with choosing a suitable date for your procedure, and our team will be on hand to provide you with our fixed-price package deals.

Ahead of your procedure, you will be offered a pre-operative assessment appointment with a member of our team to confirm you are fit and healthy to undergo your procedure.

During your post-operative stay at Thornbury Hospital, you will have access to your own private ensuite room, with modern facilities and top-quality nursing care.
