Sheffield Arrhythmia Centre is based at BMI Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, and consists of a dedicated group of cardiologists and allied health professionals. Set up by Consultant Cardiologist Dr Andreas Kyriacou and Dr Nick Kelland, the main aim of the centre is to deliver excellent care for patients with heart rhythm problems in Sheffield and the surrounding area of South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.
Sheffield Arrhythmia Centre offers a full clinical assessment by a Consultant Cardiac Electrophysiologist — a Cardiologist with a speciality interest in heart rhythm problems, supported by a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests in modern facilities. Available investigations include:
- 12 lead ECGs (electrocardiogram)
- Holter monitoring
- Cardiac CT scanning
- Cardiac MRI scanning
- Exercise testing
- Pacemaker and reveal device implantation
- Cardiac electrophysiological studies
Outpatient consultations take place during weekday mornings or evenings at BMI Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield and occasionally on Saturdays at the BMI The Park Hospital, located between Mansfield and Nottingham.
On arrival at main reception you will be guided to the clinic and an ECG will be performed by the nursing staff if required. Please bring any ECGs that you may possess, and a full list of your current medications (if applicable). We also ask that patients bring any correspondence and investigations that could assist their consultation — a GP letter would be useful but not critical if they possess all other relevant information.
