Just four months after The BMI Three Shires Hospital received an outstanding rating for its paediatric service the team is proud to learn it has been awarded a second Outstanding rating for its imaging department.
The Care Quality Commission report found the Imaging and diagnostic services to be safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led. The team were highlighted for its ‘clear proactive approach to seeking out and embedding new and more sustainable models of care’ while the management was praised for its ‘positive culture which supported and valued staff’.
Clinical Services Manager for Imaging, Jennifer Moncur, said: “Our patients and their experiences are always our number one priority, and we understand that in order to provide the best service, we must continue to improve and perform to the best of our ability. The team is extremely dedicated to providing a safe, high quality and patient focussed service and it’s great to see this has been formally recognised.”
The report also highlighted that there were no waiting lists for patients coming into the hospital - all patients were allocated an appointment within 24 hours of referral, and scan results were reviewed and reported on within one week, or in most cases within one day of the investigation being completed.
Dominic Bath, Executive Director of the hospital, said: “As a private hospital we pride ourselves on being able to provide the best quality service to our patients and with these great results we are even more determined to continue to push and drive positive change.”
The news coincides with the opening of the department’s new fluoroscopy suite, with its fluoroscopy and digital radiographic system for diagnostic and interventional examinations, the design of which allows patients easier and much quicker access to diagnosis and treatment.
Diagnostic services available at BMI Three Shires include two x-ray rooms, one with fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and an MRI scanner. The hospital provide care for insured patients, NHS patients and those wishing to pay for themselves.
