BMI Three Shires Hospital has been shortlisted for The Nursing Times Learning and Development Award.
Over the last year BMI Three Shires Learning Hub has been developing the skills of the entire workforce at the hospital using external agencies, upskilling their clinical educators and linking with regional and corporate training teams.
The learning hub has been specifically set up to provide ongoing learning and development of the hospital staff. This not only improves the services for patients, but has allowed the team to gain additional qualifications and experience to equip them in their careers. The hub has been highlighted as an example of excellence in the Best workplace for learning and development award and the 2018 Nursing Times Awards.
“To say we are excited is an understatement,” said Dominic Bath, Executive Director. “These are seen as the Oscars of private healthcare, and the team is thrilled that their training standards has been recognised in this way.”
“The importance of developing our team is huge, so that they not only have a great working environment, but they have an opportunity to improve their knowledge to propel them in the next stages of their careers.”
Nearly 100 organisations submitted entries for the awards. The panel of 21 judges said the standard of entries was extremely high and provided evidence that there was a lot of great work happening to support the nursing workforce.
