BMI Woodlands once again supported the Northern Echo Local Heroes, with the awards ceremony taking place in The Grand Marquee at Wynyard Hall on Thursday 6th December 2018.

BMI Woodlands sponsored the award for ‘Outstanding Performance’ which was presented to the winner Jordan Nixon by BMI Woodlands Director of Clinical Services Jill Neasham, who was accompanied by former world cup referee George Courtney. Jordan, a goalkeeper for local non-league team Guisborough won the award not just for his goalkeeping but for his goal scoring, rescuing his team who were trailing 3-2 on two occasions. Following his second goal in September he had scored the same number of goals at that stage as Harry Kane, Mo Salah and Eden Hazard!

The awards dinner was enjoyed by 11 Woodlands consultants, a GP and Woodlands Managers. Some of the stories of local ‘grass roots’ heroes brought a ‘lump to the throat’ and all winners were all well deserved. There were a number of North East sporting celebrities present including Steve Cram and Allison Curbishley.

The Consultants present were:  Mr Y K Viswanath, Mr Craig White, Dr Jason Easby, Mr Andy Port, Mr Joe Sudhakar, Mr Sanya Adedapo, Mr Praveen Kalia, Mr Raymond Liow, Mr Keith Gunning, Mr Andy Lloyd and Dr Anita Butts.
