Femoro-popliteal bypass surgery
Femoral-popliteal bypass surgery or a 'fem pop bypass' is surgery that reverts the hardening of arteries. This happens when abnormal fatty material (called atheroma) coats the inside of the artery.
When the arteries to your legs are affected, you will experience pain in the back of your legs. If the fem pop bypass operation is successful, you should be able to walk with less pain. Surgery should improve the blood supply to your legs and prevent you from getting ulcers or gangrene.
Varicose veins treatment
Varicose veins are enlarged and twisted veins in your leg. Sometimes, weaknesses in the walls of the superficial veins cause them to enlarge. The result is a build-up of pressure in the veins, which bulge out as varicose veins.

Carotid endarterectomy
Carotid endarterectomy is an operation performed on narrowed carotid arteries to help reduce the risk of stroke. These arteries lie in the neck and are an important blood supply to your brain.
As you age, plaque can build up in the walls of your arteries, causing them to narrow. This process is called atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries. If enough plaque builds up, then blood flow through your carotid arteries can be reduced and the smooth inner lining of the arteries can be damaged (known as carotid artery disease).
During a carotid endarterectomy, your surgeon will make an incision on one side of your neck to expose the narrowed carotid artery and will remove the inner lining of the diseased section of your artery containing the plaque.
