What is an anomaly scan?
An anomaly scan is usually done between 16-20 weeks of pregnancy. The scan will be similar to the sexing scan
in its format but will usually allow you to get a clearer picture of your baby.
What are the benefits of this scan?
It will allow you to see your baby more clearly and also allow for your baby to be checked for abnormalities.
The anatomy of your baby is scanned in detail so that any information about the many body systems, such as the urinary tract, digestive tract, heart and major blood vessels, brain and others, can be imaged and interpreted. The careful and accurate measurements made during the scan help to monitor the wellbeing of your baby.
