What is brachial plexus surgery?

Brachial plexus surgery is a type of surgery used to correct brachial plexus injuries.

The brachial plexus is a network of nerves, arising from the spine at the base of the neck, from which arise the nerves supplying the arm, forearm and hand, and parts of the shoulder girdle.

Those nerves are fragile and can be injured due to pressure, stretching or even cutting resulting in arm dysfunction.

What are briachial plexus treatment options?

Treatment will depend on the severity of the injury. If the injury persists after rest or physical therapy, surgery might be the next option.

A wide range of micro-surgical procedures are available and will be explained by your surgeon.
