Update - 7/6/20
Our physiotherapy services remain open for business, and we continue to accept new referrals - you do not need to have seen your GP or a Consultant to refer yourself for Physiotherapy.
However, the safety of patients and our staff is of paramount importance to us, so we continue to operate a ‘Virtual first’ approach, as recommended by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
Under this Virtual First approach each patient will have their initial assessment by phone or video call to help us understand your issue and agree with you the most appropriate treatment. Only patients with essential needs will be considered for face-to-face appointments at this time.
In addition our Physiotherapy departments have introduced new ways of working so we can provide essential face-to-face appointments whilst ensuring the safety of patients and our staff, including, but not exclusively:
- Infection Control – all our sites have access to the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) that is required when treating patients within a 2 metre distance, we have enhanced cleaning schedules in place and have increased the time in between appointments to allow for additional cleaning.
- Social distancing – all of our sites have plans in place to manage social distancing, such as staggering appointment times, increasing the time in between appointments or limiting the number of patients/staff in the department at any one time.
- Consent – it is important patients are fully aware of the risks associated with face to face appointments, so our physiotherapists will discuss this with you in detail before anything is agreed, and you always have the opportunity to change your mind – just let us know.
As part of our Virtual first approach, we have reduced our prices for all virtual consultations (telephone or video calls). All face to face appointments will be charged at the standard rate.
