Removal of facial skin lesions

Whether they are causing you issues, or for cosmetic reasons, book online today to have non-cancerous skin lesions removed from your face.

What is removal of facial skin lesions?

It is the removal of non-cancerous skin lesions on the face, either because they have become problematical or you wish to have them removed for cosmetic reasons.

How does removal of facial skin lesions work?

It works by usually cutting out or shaving off unsightly or troublesome moles or warts or cysts.  The area is then either left to heal or sewn together and the abnormal skin lesion is sent to be looked at underneath the microscope to be sure that the lesion was benign.

What are the benefits?

Unsightly benign skin lesions are removed, any associated discomfort will cease andt he lesion will no longer put the patient at risk of becoming infected.

How safe is the treatment?

Local anaesthetic removal of benign skin lesions is very safe and complications such as infection, bleeding or bruising are rare.  It is also rare for benign skin lesions to come back once they have been removed.

Paying for your operation

Costs may be covered by most medical insurance policies, but please check with your insurer first. If you are paying for your own treatment the cost of the operation will be explained and confirmed in writing when you book the operation. Ask the hospital for a quote beforehand, and ensure that this includes the surgeon’s fee, the anaesthetist’s fee and the hospital charge for your procedure.
