Appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2003 he works at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.

He is a specialist in hip reconstructive arthroplasty surgery in particularly young and complex revision surgery and hip resurfacing. He undertook a fellowship in adult reconstruction of the hip at the Department of lower limb arthroplasty, Vancouver University Hospital. He was awarded the British and American Hip Societies Travelling Fellow and the ABC Fellowships and is the Hip Specialty Editor for the Bone and Joint Journal, UK.

Honorary Professor Glasgow University, member of the British Hip Society (BHS) Executive and an active member of British Research Society (BORS). He is also a member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) research committee, President of the West of Scotland Orthopaedic Research Society (WoSORS) and cofounder (2009) of the Glasgow Orthopaedic Research Society (GLORI) for fundamental science research at Glasgow University.

  • Hip arthroplasty surgery with particular interest in complex young arthroplasty surgery and bearing alternatives including resurfacing and revision hip arthroplasty surgery.
